CARRY YOUR WEIGHT!

A Game Show of Brains, Brawn and…Beauty.

THE TEAMS

Each game consists of two teams made up of; Brains – an MIT nerd type, and his or her partner; Brawn – a GOLD’S GYM type. Together each team of Brains and Brawn compete in “quizzes” and “exercises” that will get them to a final bonus round of “Carry your weight” and the potential to add big money to their winnings.

THE GAME

Three Rounds with each consisting of a challenging Quiz Section followed by a physical Exercise Competition. A final exercise at the end – a bonus round, is only played by the overall winning team (the one with the most money banked) from the three rounds of quizzes and exercises.

Over the course of each Round, the “Brains” must answer questions in the Quiz Section that nobody in the world (other than our hard core fans) might know the answer to. These questions have to do with everything from physics to world history. In some cases they will be mathematical problems the Brain must work out in front of us. The first “Brain” to answer the question correctly wins the question and he or she can make the exercise that their “Brawn” must compete in at the end of the round easier by “removing weight” literally. (More on that below.) The Brawn who wins the exercise at the end of the round gets the cash for his or her team. (Each Exercise has a cash or prize value) Both Brawns will compete in the round’s exercise, but clearly the one with less weight because his “Brain” has performed better in the Quiz Section has a better chance at winning the exercise. That said, if feeling “confident,” the Brawn could opt to increase the weight (and win bonus money) even though he or she has been awarded the right to remove weight if the team needs to catch up and build their bank – especially in the later rounds.

Each Round will have approximately five questions or problems for the Brains to solve during the Quiz Section. The Brawns will be encouraged by our Host to “join in” and help the cause, which should provide some humor as they do nothing more than confuse and take focus away from our Brains at work.

At the end of each Round, the Brawns will move to a larger set piece - something between a gym and enormous Erector set with a huge digital “weight readout”- to compete in that round’s Exercise. As mentioned before, the winning team from the quiz part of the round will have less weight to contend with and the obvious edge to win that exercise and that round’s pot.

THE EXERCISES

The first Exercise at the end of Round One will be Push Your Weight. In that exercise, the Brawns will simply each have to push a “Weighted Device” a certain distance. (Same exact Device for each team, except for the weight.) The first one to “cross the finish line” first wins. If the winning Brawn has added weight because he or she is confident in their ability, then that will be factored in and the cash prize for that exercise adjusted and announced. Two following Rounds will have two more Exercises; Pull Your Weight, in which the Brawns have to pull a “Weighted Device” for a distance, and Hold Your Weight, where the Brawns have to hold a “Weighted Device” for a period of time without lowering it. In this final exercise, the first one to lower the weight a specified distance, looses. Just as the Brawns will be encouraged to help the Brains answer questions, the Host will encourage the Brains to help the Brawn in their exercises, and in doing so hopefully get in the way.

CARRY YOUR WEIGHT

The team with the most money at the end of three Rounds will move onto the bonus round and the big money. In this round the Brain will have to answer a lightening quick series of questions. Each correct answer earns the team the right to remove weight in a final Exercise: Carry Your Weight. In this Exercise, the Brain will have to navigate a small obstacle course on the Erector set gym that includes everything from climbing to crawling, sliding to running. All the while literally carrying weight on his back and trying to beat a ticking clock.

THE BEAUTY

Saving the best for last, the “Weight” mentioned throughout above, will be beautiful, swimsuit wearing models weighing from 100 pounds to 150 pounds – in 5 pound increments. (And yes, there are indeed beautiful 6 foot 150 pound women!) By stepping onto and off our huge “Scale,” the weight the Brawns must deal with will be go up or down for their exercises. The metaphor here is that men often “do what they do – from brains to brawn – to “Carry the Weight” and impress their women. This doesn’t however mean that we can’t “switch roles” and have female teams of Brain and Brawn compete, and a handful of Beautiful male models stepping onto the scales – in their Speedos!
